Perfect Match: Why Sebring is a Second Home for Chevrolet and Corvette Racing

There are certain circuits in the racing world that only require one name. Sebring is one of them. Say the word to any sports car fan, nay, any race fan, and there is a chance a wry smile will cross their lips. It’s likely the direct result of a personal story that has been sworn to secrecy, or, some will claim, a story they heard.

Project LT5: Ed Valenciano is Making the Swap in a 1969 Camaro

When Chevrolet Performance introduced the LT5 crate engine at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas last fall, it was clear the 755-horsepower monster would be a game-changing addition to the enthusiast world. One of the first enthusiasts to adopt the powerful engine is Ed Valenciano, who has chosen the LT5 to power his ’69 Camaro ZR1 build. He’s doing it the old-fashioned way, in a single bay of his garage with the car on jack stands.

All Things COPO: Arthur Kohn is A Winning Racer and Dedicated Collector

It’s hard to determine what’s most impressive about Arthur Kohn. For one, the resident of Richmond, Texas, is an ever-present part of NHRA’s popular Factory Stock Showdown -- an eight-race series pitting American muscle from The Big Three head to head. Kohn won the Four-Wide Nationals at zMAX Dragway near Charlotte last year in a COPO Camaro. Then, later in the year, he became the first COPO driver in the seven-second range with a blistering 7.993-second pass during the Midwest Nationals at Gateway Motorsports Park outside St. Louis.

While winter is approaching in most of the country, Vegas seems like the perfect retreat with its warm days and cool nights. Some travelers are looking to hit it big in the casinos of The Strip, others have made the journey for some rest and relaxation. Yet, during this time of year, ubiquitous bold automotive logos on polo shirts and hats also provide proof that the SEMA Show is in town once again, where the performance industry gathers to show off its newest products to buyers and one another.

  • For Ross Logsdon of Premier Street Rods in Lake Havasu, Arizona, “Chevy runs deep.” The young builder says he grew up in a garage and knew he was a Chevrolet guy from his time playing with toy cars as a kid. When he finally was able to buy his own vehicles, all he wanted to do was make them better.
