After twelve long hours around the 3.74-mile, 17-turn road course, the No. 3 machine piloted by Jan Magnussen, Antonio Garcia and Mike Rockenfeller came home in the third position of the GT Le Mans (GTLM) class in the IMSA-sanctioned race. They did so after having competed in the FIA World Endurance Championship’s 1000 Miles of Sebring only a single day before.
The race got off to a very wet start, which wreaked havoc with drivers and cars, but by early afternoon the rain gave way to a pleasant afternoon in the Florida springtime.
The No. 3 C7.R stopped twice in the race’s final 80 minutes to gain track position, with final-stint driver Garcia passing two cars in the final 20 minutes of the race to reach the third step on the podium.
Meanwhile, the No. 4 C7.R driven by Olver Gavin, Tommy Milner and Marcel Fässler finished eighth in class.
The week lent itself to lots of stunning photo opportunities. We’ve decided to make one of our favorite night shots this week’s Wallpaper Wednesday.
