As always, only 69 of this year’s COPO Camaros will be produced. That means the opportunity to own Chevrolet’s purpose-built drag car are few and far between. Those interested in becoming an owner of the 2019 COPO only have until the end of November to register for a chance to be selected to buy.
The 2019 COPO celebrates 50 years since clever Chevrolet dealers introduced the first Central Office Production Order (COPO) Camaros in 1969. These 69 rare and valuable vehicles are famous for their use of all-aluminum 427c.i. ZL1 engines.
Since they were reintroduced for 2012, COPOs have been the envy of drag races and collectors alike. The 2019 model adds to that celebrated lineage with a blue 50th Anniversary Edition which utilizes an LSX-based 427c.i. naturally aspirated engine under the hood, along with an orange engine block and polished aluminum valve covers.
Two other engine options are also available for 2019 COPOs: an LT-based 302c.i. direct-injection version and an LSX-based supercharged 350.
