The 2018 edition of the event will be the fourth annual festival of all things mid-’50s. Slated for Thursday, August 9, through Saturday, August 11, this year’s Tri-Five Nationals will host a show featuring more than 3,000 Tri-Five Chevys on Friday and Saturday. But it’s so much more than that. Drag racing, an awards show including the American Tri-Five Association’s Tri-Five of the Year, and a 1955 giveaway car built by Woody’s Hot Rodz will all be part of the festivities.
The weekend gets underway on Thursday, however, with events at the Sloan Convention Center in Bowling Green including a model car contest, an appearance by “Mr. Super Chevy” Doug Marion and an evening concert featuring Phil Dirt and the Dozers. Also, for the first time in history, Tri-Five Nationals drag racing participants will have the opportunity to run under the lights at Beech Bend that night.
Registration for the full event is $65 with unlimited fun runs on the drag strip or $100 to participate in drag racing eliminations. Both entry fees are good for two people across all days with a chance to win the giveaway car. For $100 participants also have the option of registering a vehicle and receiving a year membership to the American Tri-Five Association. Spectator pricing for the weekend is set at $20 each day with kids 12 and under free.
The event runs from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Sloan Convention Center on Thursday, with racing at Beech Bend set for 6-10 p.m. The gates are open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
The BLOCK will be in Bowling Green throughout the weekend to check out some of our favorite cars, tell stories about interesting folks utilizing Chevrolet Performance parts, and of course, take plenty of photos.
