During the Danchuk Tri-Five Nationals, dozens of the nation’s quickest and fastest 1955-1957 Chevrolets take to the strip at Beech Bend Raceway. While fun runs are part of the show, the racing program is made up of full-blown race cars.

The competition is not for the faint of heart.

Each day on track includes wheelstands and burnouts to the delight of fans. However, the racing requires equal parts precision, nerve and sheer speed. That’s why we made the below photo this week’s Wallpaper Wednesday download. When the light turns green, this 1957 Chevy will blast down the quarter mile. The driver is laser-focused on turning on the win light, simply so he can do it all over again.
